PROKAS (Promoting Knowledge for Accountable Systems) supports collective action among Government of Bangladesh, civil society and private sector partners to improve accountability and transparency in targeted thematic areas in Bangladesh.

How Does PROKAS Work?

PROKAS will provide grants to civil society and private sector partners working together on issue-based projects to promote accountability and transparency. Funded activities can include research, media investigations, outreach and advocacy.

PROKAS will also provide capacity building assistance, such as training, for specific government initiatives aimed at improving transparency, accountability and reducing corruption.

What Issues Will PROKAS Address?

The programme will initially focus on three key areas:  climate governance, food safety and safe migration. Other issues will be identified throughout the lifetime of the programme. 

When Will Funding be Available?

The programme started working with grant partners on rolling basis from 2016.
