Role overview

The IELTS Consultation Programme (ICP) is an hour and a half long interactive briefing session aimed at students interested in taking an IELTS exam. The programme gives an overview of online and offline resources for preparation, tips and techniques, registration and exam, and results, followed by an open question and answer session.

This is an exciting opportunity for motivated and qualified individuals to work as a part of the IELTS team and represent the test at various events, fairs and seminars. This also presents a unique opportunity to gain experience and develop skills in international cultural relations. You will be part of a modern, rapidly changing organisation with worldwide influence and impact. The nature of your role will offer scope for versatility, initiative and creativity in a stimulating and supportive environment.

The basic requirements for this position are:

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate degree or a qualification which can be demonstrated to be equivalent to an undergraduate degree
  • English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS band 7 or Grade B in GCSE English Language exam.
  • Prior experience presenting in front of a large audience would be an added advantage.
  • Basic IT skills including some degree of troubleshooting.
  • The required professional attributes and interpersonal skills which include but not limited to: verbally and nonverbally adept, animated, assertive, cheerful, clear, confident, commanding, energetic, engrossing, innovative, poised, understandable and most importantly natural in his/her delivery.

This is not a full-time position and you will be required to work on an on-call basis. The British Council will be responsible for your travel arrangements whilst presenting outside its office premises.
