British Council Bangladesh is hosting an International Study Visit under its flagship global project ‘Active Citizens’ from 16 to 22 January with 25- 30 young volunteers from different countries.  The young Active Citizens are visiting Bangladesh to go through a learning journey which will provide them with solid understanding of Bangladesh’s cultural context, the power of networking and how youth are mobilising resources in our communities through their leadership qualities to bring in positive social change

The activities are designed to bring together partners, facilitators and participants from diverse backgrounds around the world. During the programme, participants will share insights and knowledge on how they are engaged in social activities in their own country and culture, the challenge they have been facing, and their accomplishments.

Students from participating countries including the United Kingdom, , Egypt, Sri Lanka, , Ukraine, Lebanon, Vietnam, Myanmar and Bangladesh are participating in the programme. The key objective of the ISV is to increase understanding of the power of global networks engaged in social development. Through these events, like-minded individuals can network, share learning and understand the value of intercultural dialogue.

Active Citizens is a global programme run by the British Council and its partners in over 30 countries. It promotes community cohesion and development through capacity building of young leaders for civic engagement and volunteering.
