How to apply (3 steps)
- Register for IELTS with the British Council Bangladesh via the official portal during 1 Jan – 28 Feb 2026.
- Write your entry (150–200 words) on one of the topics below. Your submission must be original and in English.
- Submit via the application form on this page — include your IELTS test reference number and contact details. (You will receive confirmation by email.)
Important: The submission form is a Microsoft Form embedded on this page (see below). Please complete the form after registration. Submissions that do not include a valid British Council IELTS reference number will not be considered.

Judging criteria
Submissions will be evaluated by a panel (British Council + partner representatives) using the following weighting:
- Clarity of thought / communication: 40%
- Aspiration & purpose: 30%
- Originality & storytelling: 20%
- English proficiency: 10%
Top 30 submissions across Bangladesh will be selected purely on merit. Shortlisted stories may be featured on British Council channels.
Terms and Conditions
- Participants must comply with all eligibility requirements, campaign rules, and submission timelines.
- Participants under 18 must provide parental consent.
- All submissions must be original and must not contain AI-generated content beyond light proofreading.
- Prizes are non-transferable and non-exchangeable unless otherwise specified.
- Winners of air tickets must provide proof of their intended study abroad journey. This includes: a valid passport, student visa for their destination country, official university offer/admission letter, and proof of tuition payment or enrollment confirmation. Air tickets will only be issued upon verification of these documents.
- Airline ticket and baggage benefits are subject to partner airline terms, availability, and travel conditions.
- Partner discounts and digital services are subject to the terms and validity periods defined by each partner.
- British Council reserves the right to request additional documentation to verify identity, eligibility, and compliance with campaign rules.
- Any fraudulent activity, manipulated submissions, duplicate entries, or misrepresentation will lead to disqualification.
- British Council reserves the right to amend, suspend, or cancel the programme at any time.
- All decisions made by the Organising Committee are final and binding.
FAQs
Who can enter?
Any candidate who registers directly on the British Council IELTS portal (Bangladesh) between 1 Jan – 28 Feb 2026. B2B/partner-registered candidates are not eligible.
Can I submit in Bangla?
No, submissions must be in English so we can evaluate English proficiency consistently.
Can I edit my submission after I submit?
No. Make sure your write-up is final before submission. If you have a genuine error, contact info.bd@britishcouncil.org immediately.
Can I use AI tools to draft my entry?
Entries must be original. While tools may help with proofreading, any entry that appears to be AI-generated, or contains heavy AI content, will be disqualified.
How will winners be contacted?
Winners will be contacted via the email and phone number provided during registration. Winners must respond within the timeline provided and provide necessary documentation for prize fulfilment.
