English assessment for schools

The gap every school knows - Passing English is not the same as using it.

A good grade tells you a student passed. It does not tell you they can hold a conversation, follow a lesson in English, or be understood. That difference is what we measure.

Students sit English year after year and earn good marks, yet schools and parents are often left without an honest answer to a simple question: can the child actually use the language? National exams reward what is easiest to test at scale. Speaking and real communication slip through.

The Primary and Secondary English Tests close that gap. They measure all four skills against an international standard, so the result reflects genuine ability rather than memorisation.

Two stages, one pathway

The Primary English Test and the Secondary English Test

Each is built for the age it serves. Together, they track a student's English across their whole time at school.

Secondary English Test

An adaptive, story-led assessment that meets each young learner at their own level and keeps them engaged.

  • Adapts to each child as they go, so the test always fits their level
  • Assesses reading, writing, listening, and speaking through age-appropriate tasks
  • Works with any curriculum, so it fits how your school already teaches
  • A clear picture of ability from Pre-A1 to B1 on the CEFR scale.

A scenario-based assessment that reflects how older students need to use English in study and real life.

  • Tasks set in realistic situations, not isolated grammar drills
  • Full four-skill measurement, including speaking
  • Course-agnostic, so it sits alongside your existing programme
  • A reliable CEFR level your school and parents can trust.
