How Do Computer-Delivered IELTS Mock Tests Work?

As an IELTS Coach student, you can access British Council’s exclusive IELTS Ready Premium service and take computer-delivered IELTS mock tests using your own device from the comfort of your home, whenever it is convenient for you.

You can also take your mock test at our Fuller Road Centre, where we conduct dedicated IELTS mock test sessions every week. IELTS Coach students can book a seat and complete their mock test at the centre, subject to availability.

What Does the Mock Test Offer?

The mock tests are designed to familiarise you with the computer-delivered IELTS test format and interface, helping you build confidence before taking the actual test.

IELTS Coach students can purchase and take up to 25 mock tests, allowing them to practise regularly, monitor their progress and prepare more effectively for the actual IELTS test.

Important Information

A mock test must be purchased in advance to participate in the centre-based mock test sessions. Students who have not purchased a mock test will not be eligible to book a seat or participate in these sessions.

  1. Skills for IELTS Listening – you will be equipped with listening strategies such as predicting information, identifying synonyms and antonyms and dealing with distracting information, in order to correctly answer all IELTS Listening question types 

  2.  Skills for IELTS Reading – you will learn how to apply reading skills such as skimming and scanning, and techniques such as identifying synonyms and antonyms to tackle all IELTS Reading question types

  3.  Skills for IELTS Writing Academic – you will encounter a comprehensive set of activities to maximise your score on IELTS Writing Task 1 and 2. You will learn how to identify key features and fully respond to the task prompt in order to meet expectations for Task Achievement, as well as improve your grammar and vocabulary
