Drawing Words is a new exhibition of children’s book illustration commissioned by the British Council and curated by the Waterstones UK Children’s Laureate, Lauren Child. The British Council Cultural Centre is bringing this exhibition to Dhaka and Cox’s Bazar for the young readers to explore a new world of colourful illustrations. The exhibition will feature ten illustrators from across the UK whose work makes an important and original contribution to contemporary British picture book illustration. Some are established artists continually developing their practice, and others are the beginning of their careers, pushing at the boundaries of the art form in new and exciting ways. All these ten books will be available in the library for its members.
Emily Hughes is one of the showcased illustrators who will also be visiting Bangladesh during the exhibition. She will be taking part in several interactive sessions both in Dhaka and Cox's Bazar.
