The British Council Bangladesh’s Dhaka Library embodied its new identity as a cultural space by organising musical experimental theatre ‘Mohajoner Nao’ (The Boat of Infinity) to perform on 4 August in its own premises. The play is a biographical sketch of the mystic bird that Baul Shah Abdul Karim (Bangladeshi Baul musician) portrays in traditional Baul folk songs which uses music and lyrics to express thoughts on divinity and philosophy. The experimental theatre was a presentation by Subachan Theatre Group, Bangladesh. The play was scripted by Shakoor Majid and directed by Sudip Chakroborty.
The British Council Global HR Director Helen Murley, Regional Director, Stephan Roman, and Regional HR Head, Rachael Storr were present at the event and enjoyed the theatrical experience. We also had a diverse profile of audience from our different programmes that also enjoyed and appreciated the delightful evening.
