IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is the world’s most popular English language test. More than 2.5 million IELTS tests are taken each year. Taking IELTS opens doors – it can help you live, study and work around the world. More than 9,000 organisations in 140 countries accept IELTS, including government, academic and employment institutions.

On 30 April 2016, the British Council inaugurated a brand new IELTS test venue at the heart of Khulna at Project Headway. Deep Adhikari, Director Examinations inaugurated the venue amid the huge media presence and signed the contract for associate partnership with Project Headway. Before the commencement of the IELTS test, the British Council IELTS Operations team inspected the venue and briefed the invigilators and the venue coordinators regarding the strict conduction of the IELTS exam. After inspecting the test hall by himself, Deep Adhikari said, “This marks as a beginning of a new era of the bond between the UK, British Council and Bangladesh. We hope to work more closely with our IELTS Registration Points in Khulna and help more candidates achieve their dream through IELTS. This was accurately proven through the flow of around 100 IELTS candidates who sat for their IELTS test for the very first time from Khulna. With the help of the British Council now more people can go to more places with IELTS.''
