Reading for pleasure opens up new worlds full of adventure and imagination. Through reading for pleasure children learn about courage and not giving up in the face of adversity, fairness and justice, tolerance and self-discipline, and the importance of truth and knowledge. Good stories have a magical way of providing examples of these values in ways that are powerful and memorable. 'Kids Read' and other British Council reading programmes aim to take some small steps towards developing a life-long love of reading in our children.
With the objective to enhance the creativity of students, the British Council in partnership with the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC) is going to organise a story telling competition for the primary school students.
Students can tell any story in Bangla or in English.
