This is so inspiring, that young poets are being promoted by organisations like Monsoon Letters and the British Council" - Sadia Afreen, Young Poet

Monsoon Letters, in association with the British Council, held the book launching ceremony for their new bilingual poetry anthology 'Monsoon Muse' at Gulshan’s Red Shift Café on 23 January 2016. This poetry anthology, published by University Press Limited (UPL), was the brainchild of the Muse Masters Performance Poetry Competition, jointly held by the British Council and Monsoon Letters, annually, since 2014. The poetry featured in the book is a compilation by the best and brightest young poets writing in Bengali and English in Bangladesh.

Muse Masters is a nationwide poetry competition initiated by the British Council and Monsoon Letters in 2014. Performance Poetry was one of the highlights in the first season of the competition and written poetry was included in the second season. Each year, this bilingual competition received more than 700 submissions from all over Bangladesh. The top 20 participating poets at the national level got the opportunity to attend workshop facilitated by the UK’s leading performance poets. The winners of this competition awarded with an exposure visit to the UK.
