Music in Bangladesh has a long history. Since the early ages of this region, music and songs have served the purpose of documenting the lives of the people of Bengal. These stories have been then inherited by generations to generations and went through a great deal of evolution. Now, it has become an inseparable part of our culture and our lives.
The British Council Cultural Centre, in partnership with Music Department, University of Dhaka proudly opens a platform named ‘Rising Star’ for the unheard talents of their department. A musical evening is arranged at the British Council premise to showcase 2 to 4 talents from their department every month.
Previously, the rising stars presented Bangla classical songs by Nazrul. Performers from the Music Department gifted an enchanted musical evening to the audiences. This event is kept open for all and walk-in registration is available at the time of the event.
This month, the British Council Bangladesh is cordially inviting you to spend another musical evening with us and get drenched by the soulful performances of the young and fresh talents.
