The British Council organised a closing ceremony of Oxford International Summer School Cricket Programme at the British High Commissioner’s Residence on 6 September 2016 in Dhaka. The Summer School Cricket Programme is one of the first initiatives of the Oxford International Education Group, which was a two weeks Summer School Cricket Programme for the students of the DPS STS School.

There were ten students who participated in the programme in Horsham, UK. The students had 25 cricket master classes where they got an English coach to train them and give lessons on cricket. They had the chance to play club cricket and they played a match with Sutton Cricket Club as well. The students had two weeks of English program where they learned grammar, vocabulary, debate, etc. According to them, these classes were extremely helpful in improving their English.

At the closing ceremony, the participants shared their memorable experiences of watching a live T20 Match at Sussex, visiting Lords and Oval cricket field, colleges under Oxford University and City Cruise, the Buckingham Palace, Madame Tussauds London, the London Eye, Big Ben, etc. The British Council organised a pre-departure session for these students before their trip. This helped them to learn and to cope up with the weather and culture in the UK. The students, their parents and teachers of DPS STS School appreciated the British Council for this initiative and expressed their plans of considering the UK as their study destination in the future.
