World Sight Day is a special annual day of awareness that is celebrated around the world each year to focus on blindness and vision impairment. To celebrate the World Sight Day 2016, the British Council is going to organise an art competition for children. The theme of the competition is 'Stronger Together'. Interested children, aged between 5 -14 are eligible to take part in the art competition.
This is the third consecutive year of this competition which is designed with events of great verve and colour to draw attention to avoidable blindness and rehabilitation among children. Participants submit individual artwork based on the theme and send it to the British Council's Dhaka University campus office. These artworks will be displayed in the British Council offices throughout the campaign period and winners are awarded certificates and the British Council branded gifts.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Any child aged between 5 -14 can take part in the Art Competition.

THEME OF THE ART
The theme for this year is 'Stronger Together'. This theme is all about capturing moments in a painting that really matter to the participants during the month of October.
ART SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
The Art submission period starts from 6 September 2016. Participants must submit the artwork on an A3 size art paper. Participant’s name, age group, division & contact number must be mentioned clearly at the back of the Art Work. Artworks can also be sent to the British Council, Dhaka University Campus office through courier service. These artworks are nonreturnable.
REGISTRATION FEE & DEADLINE
It is a free campaign. The deadline is 5 October 2016.
ANNOUNCEMENT OF WINNERS AND PRIZE GIVING CEREMONY
The name of the winners will be communicated over phone. Prizes will be distributed through a ceremony. The venue and date will be announced at a later date and participants will be informed.
PRIZES AND CERTIFICATES
Three participants from each group will be selected who will be awarded prizes and certificates. The best artist from each group will get a champion’s crest. A certificate of participation will also be given to all participants who will take part in the art competition.
