The British Council hosted an art competition and different interactive sessions among the primary school children under the project, Play Learn Act on 26 July 2017 at Kalachandpur Government Primary School. With supported grants from the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC), this project has been initiated to enhance literacy (reading and writing) and communication skills (listening and speaking) of students (class 1-5) from different primary schools by introducing books and digital resources from the British Council which will develop their analytical and thinking skills helping them express their thoughts and ideas in a more articulate manner.
The primary school kids from Kalachandpur Government Primary School took part in the art competition at their classrooms. Sir Ciarán Devane, Chief Executive, British Council and Francois de Maricourt, Chief Executive Officer, HSBC Bangladesh and other guests met the participants of the competition and looked at their artworks. The competition was followed by an interactive session ran by the delegates.
Play, Learn, Act works with children, teachers, school administration staff and parents in Bangladesh through school and community events, and competitions. The project has completed its first year with ten schools and currently in its second year.
