Along with our partners Monsoon Letters, we run Muse Masters, the first ever performance poetry contest to take place in Bangladesh.

Last year more than 750 young poets from across Bangladesh participated in this nationwide bilingual poetry contest. The top 20 poets took part in a two day basic performance poetry workshop, facilitated by Inua Ellams, a performance poet from the UK.

The national competition was judged by renowned poet Kaisar Haq; Rubana Huq, Editor Monsoon Letters; and Eeshita Azad, Head of Arts, British Council. Winners of the competition were awarded a visit to the UK, where they attended literary festivals and were able to perform and create new networks.

After the success of Muse Masters Season 1, we are now looking forward to Muse Masters Season 2, the next instalment of our series of competitions and workshops on performance poetry.
