The British Council Cultural Centre has launched an event series, Starflixed with its first event Star Talk, with the cast and crew of the movie 'Debi' on 8 October 2018. Under this series, the Cultural Centre will organise quarterly events to promote the entertainment industries of the UK and Bangladesh.
The evening kicked off with a brief presentation on the Digital Library and its benefits, followed by a screening of the unreleased trailer of the movie 'Debi'. Later, a Star Talk session was arranged with the leading actors Jaya Ahsan and Chanchal Chowdhury, discussing the opportunities and challenges of producing a film from a novel, characterisations and other interesting topics. An interactive session was also arranged following the Star Talk, where participants enjoyed the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the movie-making process of 'Debi'.
Starflixed will also showcase the resources that the British Council has to offer to its wide range of customers. Recently, it has renovated the library experience by expanding its online library services and by introducing the Digital Library. Two key additions to the platform are IndieFlix and Digital Theatre, through which the library members can access and stream over 8,000 award-winning comedies, documentaries, drama, animation, shorts, classic TV, theatre productions and more.
