Ekushey Book Fair is the national book fair of Bangladesh which is arranged every year for the whole month of February in Dhaka. This event is to commemorate the historic language movement of 21 February 1952 for the establishment of Bangla as the mother language.

Like, every year, the British Council participated in this fair by taking up a stall where customers got an access to our library and other services. This year the national book fair was more important as it was linked with the National Library Day. We promoted the importance of reading books and exchanging knowledges at the stall through sharing books from our Young Learners Corner. Furthermore, information regarding IELTS  and on how to become a library member was shared with the visitors. New members joined our library program through the month long national book fair.

In addition to this, our stall was open for children as there was a gaming corner where they played Word Ludo (word making game) and SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) puzzles (provided by the UNDP).
