As a part of the StarFlixed series, the British Council Cultural Centre has arranged a session titled  'Meet the Artist'.  In this session Sophina Jagot, Manager, Culture Central and James Tyson, Theatre and Dance Programme Manager, Arts pitched their project Transforming Narratives. Tanvir Alim, Head of Cultural Centre, British Council hosted the session.

The project is managed by Culture Central, Birmingham and delivered in partnership with the British Council. It aims to establish Birmingham as a leading international cultural centre for contemporary South Asian arts practice and multi-art forms. It is mainly an artistic exchange programme for the mutual benefit of Birmingham and cities in Pakistan and Bangladesh.

The speakers have shared a small brief of the project, explained the purpose of it and how someone with same interest can connect to this project. The audiences were mainly artists, freelancers and people with interest and background in arts.

At the end of the session, there was a question-answer segment where audiences shared their views and queries regarding the project, Transforming Narratives. They also discussed the prospect of this project and how it can enrich both the cultures through such platforms.

Through 'Meet the Artist' session, Sophina and James were able to build a primary network that resulted into a selection of seven groups who will be presenting their culture through different art forms in Birmingham from 20 to 27 March 2019.
