Study UK Alumni Awards celebrate the achievements of outstanding UK Alumni who have made an impact through their work in their respective fields.

Winner - Business and Innovation Award

Md Samiul Masud 
University of Birmingham
A specialist in the public financial sector, Md Samiul Masud served as a Senior Consultant in public finance reform in Bangladesh by the Ministry of Finance and the World Bank. During his two years of specialist service, he authored the very first ‘Strategic Capacity Development Plan’ in PFM for Bangladesh. He also pioneered networking with overseas capacity development partners by building relationships such as Civil Service College, UK.

Winner - Culture and Creativity Award

Ariq Anam Khan 
University of Warwick 
A versatile writer, director, producer and actor from Bangladesh, Ariq Anam Khan is the co-founder and Executive Producer at Forecast Films. In 2020, Ariq’s award-winning short film 'Transit' premiered at top international festivals such as Busan, Clermont-Ferrand, LA Shorts, and more. In 2022, he was selected as a fellow at the prestigious Global Media Makers (GMM) program in Los Angeles to develop his first feature. 

Winner - Science and Sustainability Award

Dr. Sakib Amin 
University of Essex
University of Durham
An Associate Professor of Economics at North South University, Dr. Sakib Amin currently focuses his research on electricity price reform and energy policy in developing countries. Dr. Sakib was also the recipient of the Commonwealth Rutherford Fellowship (2017-18) and has recently been appointed as the Assistant General Secretary of Bangladesh Energy Society.

Winner - Social Action Award

Kazi Hassan Robin 
University of East London
An academician, researcher and author, Kazi Hassan Robin has been recognized with many accolades, including the Youth Excellence Award at the Youth Leadership Carnival-2019. He was also appointed as an SDG Advocate in the MY World Asia-Pacific 2030 Programme in recognition of his work, promoting the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
