In September 2018 we held WOW Dhaka: Sylhet Chapter. The event was organised by the British Council, South Bank Centre and the JAAGO foundation.
WOW Chapters are community events, held in the run up to a WOW festival. The events provide a platform to celebrate women and girls and explore the obstacles which prevent them from achieving their full potential. In turn, they help to inform the design of the upcoming WOW festival.
The Sylhet Chapter was used to discuss achievements and challenges for women in Sylhet and was a fantastic opportunity to hear inspirational stories from women from all walks of life. At the end of the event the crowd were invited to ‘rock on’ as popular band Shikorh performed live.
