Our authorised registration centres are independent third parties and comprise language schools, higher education institutions, professional associations and migration agents. Our authorised registration centres are known as either:

  • 'British Council IELTS Registration Centre'
  • or 'IELTS Registration Centre for the British Council'.

You should be cautious of any institute that does not use the above wording, as they may not be authorised by us.

Note on preparation courses run by authorised registration centres

The British Council does not create or administer IELTS preparation courses run by third-party organisations. You are advised to evaluate such courses on their own merits.
